Welcome to the Screen Shot Thread. This is a place for showing off your favorite games, gaming moments and achievements. The rules are simple: posted images 1024 pixels or smaller, links can be to any size. You must have a screen shot in your post, text only posts will be deleted. No attached signatures. Nothing inappropriate. Try to avoid spoilers when posting new releases. Thank you.

*This thread is best viewed using the "DarkStyleWide" forum theme*

---

My personal contribution to this thread has become something of a tour de force. While I never set out to make it such, my ridiculously large library has made it so. To date I've posted 279 screen shots from 106 different games (not including MP or DLC) that I personally own and have played - including 9 ultra widescreen 7680x1600 "Eyefinity" shots. For that reason I've instituted a few features:

  1. Each game has been categorized by Developer, with links to the appropriate website
  2. Where sequels or reboots covered similar ground, I tried to provide related screen shots to contrast the difference
  3. Some screen shots are followed by a "spoiler" box. This box includes unique information such as modifications that have been used, or in the case of many older games, widescreen & FOV "fixes" that may have been added. In addition you may find a "NOTE" section that will designate something special about a particular shot
  4. At least once a year I give the thread a complete over-haul to keep it fresh

For me this thread has constituted a great many hours to construct. I expect a great many more hours will be added as time goes on. As I buy new games I will add new shots. As I replay old ones I will replace mediocre shots with better ones and expand where content is sparse.

It is an investment, and I take some pride in it and its presentation. That however does not mean this is a competition. Please, post your own screens without hesitation, especially if they are of a genre or title not already shown. I would love to see this thread grow so epic it draws a crowd. In any event, welcome and enjoy.

*Thanks go to ImageShack for image hosting (despite how frequently they lose or change the address of my shots)

Mass Effect 3: N7 Collector's Edition

Coming March 6th, 2012

Mass Effect 2: Collector's Edition

Image Image Image Image Image Image

Spoiler:
NOTE: There were three different bonuses announced for this game's launch. One came as a part of the Collectors Edition, the other two came from pre-ordering from various different vendors. I got two by pre-ordering the Collector's Edition and the third by pre-ordering a copy for a friend. Some times being a completionist is annoying. :P

Mass Effect 2: Arrival

Mass Effect

Spoiler:
NOTE: This shot is special in that all three characters are equipped with the game's rarest, most hard to find equipment. Wrex is wearing Geth Armory "Battlemaster X" armor. Commander Shepard is wearing "Predator M X" armor from Spectre Master Gear. Tali is wearing the rarest of all, with Kassa Foundation's "Colossus X" armor for Quarians. All three are using "Savant X" bioamps and/or omni-tools from Serrice Council. Lastly, the entire team is equipped with "X" versions of "Spectre Master Gear" weapons. If you've played the game, then you know to do this without cheating requires about two full play-throughs of the game... and a LOT of exploration!

Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood - Deluxe Edition

Image Image Image Image Image Image

Spoiler:
ACHIEVEMENT: You'll notice various armors in these shots, but the most notable is the "Armor of Brutus" armor in thumbnail five. This armor can only be attained by finding, solving and/or beating six hidden "Romulus Liars" within the game. Another interesting fact about that shot is that Ezio is sitting atop the "Castel Sant' Angelo", the highest point in all Rome in 1503, and as a result, in the game

ACHIEVEMENT: This shot is special in that in order to obtain the gold skin for the AK47, you had to complete every challenge for every weapon in the "Assault Rifle" class. Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Spoiler:
To enable widescreen and proper FOV, follow the instructions here.

ACHIEVEMENT: A little hacking makes this shot special. Bobba Fett is not a playable character in this game, neither does he ever use a double ended, multi-colored light saber that can be split into two sabers. However, with some creative scripting, it can all be assigned to hotkeys to enable and disable on the fly as you so desire. PC Gaming FTW!

It's a light show

My Battlecruiser Pegasus. Armed with six Medium Heavy Laser Beams and can fire up to 10km.

My Frigate the Saber. For when I have fast moving targets and nothing else will catch up and kill them fast enough.

I have a Battleship called the Abaddon in production and when I can fly it will release some photos of it.

Unreal Tournament 3 - Black Edition

Unreal Tournament 2004 - Editor's Choice Edition

Spoiler:
ACHIEVEMENT: Those who have played UT may recognize why this otherwise bland looking shot is special. In order to capture such a shot you would had to have beaten the single player game to unlock the "Xan" player model, won the round of deathmatch you were playing, done so with a headshot, using a single shot sniper rifle, while jumping and while having quad-damage. A rare shot for any gamer, let alone one of my mediocre skill

Yes, all the training for skills done in EVE literally takes hours, days, months, years. Not like in some video games where an hour in game time could be half an hour in real time.
